Things to do in Autumn
1. Bonfire Night- there are two great options for next weekend, both only a ten minute drive away. Friday night sees the Framlingham Light & Sound Spectacular at the castle. This is a new environmentally friendly event for bonfire night in partnership with Noise of Art, an established music and arts organisation, to create two very special special events. Details and tickets here. Saturday sees Heveningham Hall light up the sky with a classic firework and bonfire night with music from Scouting for Girls and the copycat Killers. Details here.
2. It's a classic Autumn thing to do for a reason. A beach walk and a lazy pub lunch really is the best way to spend a weekend in our opinion. A favourite pub of ours is The Ship at Dunwich (their sticky toffee pudding is a best seller for a reason) and is the perfect midway point in walks from Walberswick beach, or Dunwich Heath- or even RSPB Minsmere if you want a longer walk.
3. Join Flint Vineyard for one of their discovery wine tours, tastings and lunch. Fantastic award-winning wine couldn't get more local and they still have a few slots available for their tours. Click here for more info.
4. Farmers markets are bursting with produce still and a chance for you to sample some of the local flavours and meet some of our amazing producers all in one place. The nearby Framlingham Market every Saturday is very popular, plus we have our village community market once a month (next one is 5th November), and the large farmers market at Snape Maltings once a month too.
5, On rainy or chilly days take in some culture indoors. There are a wealth of concerts happening at the world-famous Snape Maltings, plus we also have a number of small independent and historic cinemas to visit. Very different to a trip to the multiplex and often showing wonderful theatre and opera performances.
