Our favourite natural wonders to see at Blyth Rise Stays in Springtime

There is so much to see on our ten acre site at this time of year as flowers start to bloom. We have over 4,000 daffodils with more than 5 varieties; from tiny little yellow ones, to huge pale frilly ones, with names such as “Lothario” and “Pueblo Dwarf”.

  • Watch the wildlife go “wild”! You’ve heard of the saying “Mad as a March Hare”? Well we have heaps of hares living on the site and you can’t help but be mesmerised by them as they run around, the males boxing for the females attention, all completely unfazed by watching eyes.

  • Baby bunnies. Is there anything cuter? Tread carefully on the paths so as not to frighten them and you will be rewarded with a glimpse as they hop about. Speaking of bunnies, we still have Easter availability if you are looking to get away.

  • The otter on the lake- often spotted and yet so tricky to photograph...we have no pictures worth sharing as yet. Shout out to some lovely guests of ours ‘K&M’ who suggested we run a competition to name it. Therefore the first person to get a proper picture of it on their stay with us, gets to name him or her (or them- they mate for life so perhaps there are two?).

  • Our version of bluebell woods….we have planted heaps of Woodland Anemone- come and experience them for yourselves.

  • Light up your firepit and wrap yourselves in one of our wool blankets as you sit back and take in the gorgeous night skies.

  • And if you are feeling adventurous and want to explore further afield, why not rent bicycles for the day and head out on the country lanes.
